About the PMI Studentweb Community

Who is Studentweb for?

This site is designed for those currently undertaking APMI, QPA and DPC examinations. It provides an arena where you can interact with other Students and discuss issues relating to your studies.

What are the main features?

Once you have applied for access you can start taking advantage of the following features:

Discussions area
If you have a question, view or opinion that you would like to raise with fellow students then you will find this area particularly useful. Maybe you are seeking some advice or maybe you just want to make a statement, either way, you can start a new discussion at any time or add a comment to a discussion that is already taking place. Folders have been set up for discussions on each of the module areas.

Documents area
This area contains a list of documents that you will find useful for your PMI studies. You are able to view and download these documents at your leisure. Make sure you visit this area regularly as new documents will be added and updated on a frequent basis.

Poll area
This area will provide you some stimulating insights into what your peers think about issues of common interest. You can also take part in the polls to make sure that your personal view is represented. If you're curious about the strength of opinion on a particular issue, you can contact the PMI who will discuss setting up a specific poll for you. We will then contact Community Members and encourage them to respond to the poll and provide you with feedback.

About the Pensions Management Institute

The PMI was established in 1976 to promote professionalism amongst those working in the field of pensions and employee benefits. Today, it is the UK institute for pensions professionals.

PMI qualifications have been designed for the full range of career options from those just starting in pensions, to the full professional level, and specialist options such as international.

Once qualifications are gained, PMI continues to provide support through Institute Membership. Members are able to keep their knowledge up to date with regular journals, national conferences and seminars, regional events and a full Continuing Professional Development Programme.

An important area of the PMI's work is to contribute to the government's thinking on pensions policy, and it has developed a strong reputation for non partisan comment highlighting the practical implication of potential government policy.

PMI's trustee work has been developed since 1993 and they are continually widening their involvement in education and support for trustees enabling them to face the ever increasing challenges of the future.
